In accordance with British Standard 5440-2, the Atom Important For Your Safety label is designed to be affixed to a compartment and advise the gas user on its restricted use to ensure compliant ventilation.

Guidance

British Standard 5440-2 (Flueing and ventilation for gas appliances of rated input not exceeding 70 kW net) and Part 2 (Specification for the installation and maintenance of ventilation provision for gas appliances) provides clear instructions on the restricted use of a compartment specifically designed or adapted to house a gas appliance.

Meeting compliance with the regulations includes clearly displaying a safety label to assist the gas user in understanding they must:

• Not allow the door of the compartment to be kept open.
• Not use the compartment for storage or as a airing cupboard (unless a purpose-built partition separates such items).
• Not restrict or block louvres or air grilles.
