This Chimney/Flue Has Been Inspected By Label is considered good practice, as when attached in an appropriate location within the property e.g. adjacent to meter locations, it provides information to the gas user/responsible person as to when the chimney/flue was last checked for safety, and it also acts as a reminder as to when any future inspection and tests are recommended.

Where the chimney/flue is serving a gas appliance owned by a landlord, it also acts as a reminder on the legal requirements under Regulation 36 of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (as Amended) of having a landlord owned chimney/flue checked for safety within 12 months of the date of the previous safety check
